Welcome to the Website of Glasgow CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale in Glasgow and most of the West of Scotland! CAMRA is the pub-goers’ champion, we promote fine beers in great pubs and defend the rights of the drinker.

Presently, the City of Glasgow and most of the surrounding areas within our branch are in Scotland's Covid Protection Level 2, hospitality providers can serve food and alcoholic drinks indoors until 10.30pm to tables consisting of no more than six people from three households. Groups of up to eight people, with no household limit, can be served at tables outdoors.

The exception is West Dunbartonshire (the area around Clydebank, Dumbarton and Balloch) which together with most of Argyll are in Scotland's Covid Protection Level 1, and pubs here can remain open until 11pm and indoor tabels can inculde up to eight people from threee households, with the outdoor limit being 12 people with no household limit.

The islands of Coll, Colonsay, Erraid, Gometra, Iona, Islay, Jura, Mull, Oronsay, Tiree and Ulva are in Covid Protection Level 0. Normal licensing restrictions apply to opening hours and indoor tabels can inculde up to ten people from four households, with the outdoor limit being 15 people with no household limit.

The usual rules concerning face coverings when not seated, table service only, and providing contact details still apply throughout Scotland. For some pubs advance table booking is necessary and for most it is advisable, especially at busy times. Many pubs not serving meals operate a "first-come-first-served" policy. If in doubt, use WhatPub for the latest details or to contact the pub before you visit.

Whatever you think about the fairness of the government's decision the hospitality industry needs more financial help than the package which is currently available. Please take a minute to send a message to your local MSPs to urge them to support CAMRA’s Save Our Pubs campaign by making sure pubs get the financial support they need to survive.

If you're planning on having some beer at home, the local breweries listed at the bottom of this page that are markedd with an asterisk are delivering orders to your door. You can also find a wider range of breweries on CAMRA's Brew2You feature.
