Presentation to Helen McCarroll, Retiring Manager of the Three Judges : 3 June 2008

Pictures by Euan Fraser

The Three Judges was full with CAMRA members, people from breweries and the pub trade and other well wishers on the evening of 3rd June 2008. They were all there to witness a rare event. After many years serving quality real ale in first Tennents and then The Three Judges, licencee, Helen McCarroll had earned her retirement. However, CAMRA wasn't going to let things end there. In recognition of the exceptional work Helen has done for the cause of real ale, Glasgow CAMRA was there that night to award her a Distinguished Service Award in gratitude for serving thousands of perfect pints from hundreds of different breweries over the years. It is fair to say that when a new micro brewery opened, if their beer was good, it wasn't long before we were able to sample it in The Judges. Branch Chairman Robin Jones made a short speech and presented Helen with a Silver Salver for services beyond the call of duty and showing an example to others on how to run a good pub.

Branch Chairman Robin Jones presents the Three Judges' long serving manager, Helen Carroll with a token of CAMRA's appreciation of her service to real ale.
